AfriChild Learning is operated by The AfriChild Centre, Uganda’s centre of excellence for research on child wellbeing and protection. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account details you give us when you register — your name and email address, and any optional profile information you choose to add (such as a title, location, short bio or profile photo).
• Learning activity — the courses you enrol in, lessons you complete, quiz attempts and scores, and the certificates you earn.
• Basic technical data needed to keep you signed in and to operate the site securely, such as your session cookie.

How we use your information

• To provide the courses, track your progress, and issue and verify your certificates.
• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To respond to you if you contact us, and to improve the platform’s content and reliability.

Your certificates and public profile

Certificates are designed to be shareable and independently verifiable. When you or someone else opens a certificate verification link, the page shows the certificate holder’s name, the course, the issue date and the certificate ID so the certificate can be confirmed as genuine. Your learner profile shows the certificates you have earned. Only the profile fields you choose to fill in are shown.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
• We do not share your information except where needed to run the platform or where required by law.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Keeping your information

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active so that your progress and certificates remain available to you. You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time.
